2023

← Back to Portfolio

A personal reflection on concealment and revelation, Torrential Heart Waterprint began as a self-portrait of the artist partially hidden behind a fern. The neon palette—vibrant pinks, oranges, and greens—evokes a charged energy that moves beyond the physical form, drawing inspiration from Peter Doig’s Orange Sunshine. The swirling patterns and textured layers explore a balance between the visible and unseen, an interplay of organic shapes and bold abstraction. This work suggests both emotional depth and rhythmic movement, engaging the viewer in a transformative experience of light, color, and form.

The intricate layering invites deeper introspection, capturing fleeting moments of self-awareness amidst the dynamic nature of the artist’s process. Torrential Heart speaks to the tension between introspection and outward expression, grounding the work in a personal yet universal exploration of identity and the natural world.
