Symphonic drops of earthy colours trickle downwards. Iris from an appleseed is an outstanding example for Erin Newell Bird’s waterprints on paper. Light and airy stain-painting in the top half creates shadowing of greens, yellows and earthy orange. The denser area of saturated-color forms a shape reminiscent of a floral formation or an other worldly instrument. This dialectic of movement and fragility, permeates. The light models the texture of the artwork, making it appear almost sculptural.
